Book Review: Matched by Ally Condie

This a a perfectly enjoyable read. A young adult novel, written by a local woman, a former English teacher, Matched, is well written and quick paced. It reminded me a little bit of The Hunger Games – a young girl caught up in the circumstances of a futuristic society that controls every aspect of its citizens lives, even who they marry. The main character is matched to one boy, a close friend, but finds herself falling in love with another, someone she is forbidden to love. The basic plot is pretty predictable – your standard love triangle, but it is still fun to read. And I am a big fan of the boy she isn’t supposed to love.

This is the first book in the Matched Trilogy and I am excited for the next one.
