In light of Father’s Day, this week is all about how important it is for dads to read to kids. Included in the article are the benefits of Dad reading and some suggestions for how to make the most of this precious and important time. There is also a brief ode to my own dad and his Dr. Seuss skills.

  1. One of my favorite memories is of my dad reading the paper in his chair after dinner; especially the Sunday paper. He would hand me the funnies and we would spend a comfortable Sunday afternoon reading and dozing. Good times.

  2. I still remember very vividly dad reading a giant Tom Clancy novel in one hand while brushing his teeth with the other. That's the kind of reading example I'm talking about!
