Review: Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson

My sister-in-law recommended this book and I am so glad she did.

Brandon Sanderson, a professor at BYU, is a fantasy master. Mistborn is the fascinating world of The Final Empire, a dark society dominated by capricious, harsh noblemen who continually beat down and abuse the skaa, or lesser caste. But a rebellion is rising among the skaa, led by a man with mystical powers.

I enjoyed this fast-paced, intelligent and action-packed book. The fantasy world is solidly developed and incredibly detailed. The characters are very human and complex, while still approachable. And the mistborn superpowers – super cool. Sanderson writes some of the best, most thrilling action/fight scenes I have read.

If you love die-hard fantasy you will love this book.
