Review: Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater

Grace is fascinated with the wolves that roam the woods behind her home, especially the one with brilliant, mysterious yellow eyes. Sam lives two lives. In the heat of summer he is human, but when the weather turns cold he becomes a wolf. When an accident brings human-Sam to Grace’s doorstep they must fight to stay together.

This is an enjoyable, quick read. The characters are likable and the story interesting, if a bit average. The best part of this book is author Maggie Stiefvater’s captivating writing.

Content note: Some mild foul language and teenage sex (nothing descriptive or distasteful, but the main characters do have sex once).
