Mara Dyer doesn’t think life can get any stranger than waking up in a hospital with no memory of how she got there.
She believes there must be more to the accident she can’t remember that killed her friends and left her mysteriously unharmed.
She doesn’t believe that after everything she’s been through, she can fall in love.
Oh, my gosh!!! This is one of the best young adult trilogies I’ve read. I raced through the first book, The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer, in just a day and a half, ignoring everything else. The two main characters, Mara and Noah, are impossible to look away from. Mara is sharp, sarcastic and complicated. Noah is mysterious, gritty and brilliant. And the supernatural premise thrilling, dark and twisted – just how I like ’em. Author Michelle Hodkin’s story kept me guessing and desperate for more. The writing is smart, the plot well developed and the pace neck-breaking.
I, of course, immediately ordered book 2, The Evolution of Mara Dyer, and read that one in about three days (dang other responsibilities got in the way). And it was just as good! Especially the deepening of Mara and Noah’s love story and the mystery of what is going on with Mara.
I CANNOT wait for the final installment which hits shelves in June 2014.
